12 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 7/19/2019. Pours very hazy medium golden yellow color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big tart/tangy limes, citrus peel/zest, lemon, peach, pear, melon, red/green apple, white grape/wine, sea salt, hay, straw, grass, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, light peppercorn/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of limes, fruity/acidic yeast, sea salt, and moderate pale/wheat malt notes; with big strength. Taste of big tart/tangy limes, citrus peel/zest, lemon, peach, pear, melon, red/green apple, white grape/wine, sea salt, hay, straw, grass, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, light peppercorn/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tartness, fruit tang; light zesty bitterness and spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of tart/tangy limes, citrus peel/zest, lemon, peach, pear, melon, red/green apple, white grape/wine, sea salt, hay, straw, grass, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, light peppercorn/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of limes, fruity/acidic yeast, sea salt, and moderate pale/wheat malt flavors; with an awesome malt/tartness and tangy fruit balance; with no puckering/astringent flavors after the finish. Fairly crisp/clean finishing. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering tartness, tangy fruit, and carbonation. Medium-plus carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, creamy/grainy/acidic/tangy, and lightly saline/zesty balanced mouthfeel that fantastic. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5%. Overall this is an outstanding fruited gose. All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of limes, fruity/acidic yeast, sea salt, and moderate pale/wheat malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink with the modestly acidic/tangy/drying finish; not overly lactic/salty. Very flavorful and not watery for the ABV. Awesome balance of vibrant limes and lacto complexity; with a great clean pale/wheat malt backbone. Minimal residual sweetness with crisp dryness. A highly enjoyable offering, and outstanding spot on style example as expected.

Taking the German Gose to the slightly darker side of sour beer, Central State Brewing employs the use of smoked sea salt and black lime for a decidedly citrus kick and a hint of darkness for added charm.

Cloudy gold and rising with a white foamy cap, Beach takes the senses to the beach with the radiant perfume of citrus, sea air and a general margarita, sangria scent. Its tepid sweetness greet the tongue with the soft suggestions of saltwater taffy, sourdough and agave.

But its not until the sour ale splashes the middle palate that the true radiance of black limes. Its that jolt of citrusy zest that brings that strong margarita tone to the forefront in taste. Fleeting sweetness assists with the sharply acidic taste that highlights the lime and the more nuanced flavors of gooseberry, passionfruit, green apple and white grape. The roundness of sea salt amplifies the citrus and provides a slightly juicy taste late.

Not much in the way of smokiness, a mild peppery taste ensures that the medium light bodied beer remains supported and balanced. A quick aftertaste of burlap and lime extends slightly after a brisk, invigorating and refreshing finish.
