Sour Ale w/ Strawberry & Lactose
Dripping with fruit flavor, this sour ale finishes with a touch of smooth sweetness thanks to a dose of lactose sugar.

Thank you superspak for this

S- Tart, strawberries, light fruits, touch of lactose, slightly earthy.
T- Tart, strawberries, touch of wheat, some lactose, pears, a little earthy.
M- Smooth, crisp, light body.
O- A nice sour and easy to drink. ABV is very well hidden, drinks like it’s a low ABV sour. Strawberries are nicely done.

16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 8/14/2019. Pours very hazy deep golden/orange/amber/light reddish color with a 1 finger fairly foamy and fluffy off white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin spotty lace cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big juicy/tart/tangy strawberries, fruit skin/seed, lemon, lime, orange, peach, plum, pear, apricot, melon, red/green apple, white grape/wine, hay, straw, grass, vanilla, cream, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, light peppercorn/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of strawberries, fruity/acidic yeast, lactose, and pale/wheat malt notes; with big strength. Taste of big juicy/tart/tangy strawberries, fruit skin/seed, lemon, lime, orange, peach, plum, pear, apricot, melon, red/green apple, white grape/wine, hay, straw, grass, vanilla, cream, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, light peppercorn/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Light fruity/lactic tartness, fruit tang, and spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of tart/tangy strawberries, fruit skin/seed, lemon, lime, orange, peach, plum, pear, apricot, melon, red/green apple, white grape/wine, hay, straw, grass, vanilla, cream, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, light peppercorn/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of strawberries, fruity/acidic yeast, lactose, and pale/wheat malt flavors; with a great malt/tartness and tangy fruit balance; with no puckering/astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering tartness and tangy fruit. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/grainy, and fairly acidic/tangy/tannic mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 8%. Overall this is an excellent fruited milkshake sour. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of strawberries, fruity/acidic yeast, lactose, and pale/wheat malt flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to drink for the ABV, with the mellowly acidic/tangy/drying finish. Great soft feel, and mellowly lactic. Great balance of juicy/jammy berries and Lacto complexity; with a great lactose and pale/wheat malt backbone against acidity. Light residual sweetness with lingering dryness. A very enjoyable offering, and impressive style example. Not as sweet as I expected of the ABV either.
