Very dark brown, opaque brew with really dark foam, a cafe latte color. Plenty of froth in the Piraat tulip. Sudsy mouthfeel is quite inviting. Aroma is raisins and cocoa with a whiff of peach.
Roasted malt is the predominate flavor with an interesting dark fruit taste. Hints of coconut and bitter chocolate. Pleasingly sweet but not too much. There's a little chalk in the finish and a slight bitter aftertaste. Overall it's rich and full of flavors. This is one of the tastier stouts I've had in a long time. From the 16 oz can purchased at the brewery near the CalTrain train station.
