this was my favorite of the beers we had a new terrain yesterday. it was cool to finally check these guys out, and they have some cool stuff going on, but the quality in here right now doesnt justify the crowd for me, the beers were almost all sort of dense and flat, in need of some refinement and finishing touches almost across the board, but this one has the flavor part dialed. its a brown ale that pours almost still looking and super murky from the tap, visually unappealing, but it smells great. i get fresh toasted coconut, sweet and natural, right up front, along with a dry cocoa thing and the chocolate malt. not much yeast character to this, i thought it might have some english flare, but i dont really miss it, as the coconut leads the way in a delicious way. it is a bit sweet, but its not desserty and its not hard to drink, natural earthy coco with the sweeter coconut is awesome, but it also still tastes like beer. i wish it had some carbonation and was a little cleaner, its like it never quite finished out. its close to being awesome, but its weird to me, like they got the hard part right and blew it on the no brainer stuff. this shouldnt be heavy and flat...
