a really neat sour beer brewed with merlot grapes and blackberries. not exactly a berliner, but not a wild ale either, and we still dont have a generic kettle sour category here on BA when adding a beer for some reason. the color is awesome, straight fuchsia, intense pink, really cool, but also pretty dense and murky and still like they almost all were in here, a shame, because with a nice white head and some radiance this would be dead sexy. the grapes are in front of the blackberries in nose and taste, juicy and almost candied to me, not as vinous as i thought it would be, and lacking the sort of natural character the belgian lambics and the italian wild ales seem to get from them, still, the flavor is awesome and i cant complain, some jammy sweetness coming from the blackberries, almost more natural than the grapes but well behind them. the right amount of sweet and sour here, good balance between them, and more drinkable than most of these, nice job with the lacto souring and the fruiting alike. i wish it had more carbonation, but that was true of almost all the beer we had in here. still, it was one of the better ones, and good enough that id love to try the other versions of the series. great mix of fruit in this. smart.
