Pours into flight glass cloudy light brown with head that quickly dissipates. Smells malty, a touch sweet, and dry but not quite tart on the end. Feels slightly thin but is crisp and not heavy. Interesting take on the style, but I kept expecting it to take a sour or heavier turn.

Rubber Soul Brewing Co. "Chicane Brown Ale"
$6 / pint @ Federal Tap House, Lancaster, PA
Notes: Deep mahogany body beneath a short head of creamy tan with better than average head retention and lacing. Nice looking pint. Mild aroma of brown malts with a touch of fudge-like chocolate. The flavor follows the aroma. Initially a touch sweetish upfront, but then dry. Minimal leafy, grassy, and earthy hops appear in the finish. Nicely balanced. This is just 4% ABV, right? Pretty full of flavor for that. As a fan of English style beer I love this but it does lack just a little bit of depth, most likely based on the choice of yeast or the fermentation temperature. Still, very worthwhile. I'm interested to find out what else they offer.
