Appearance: Poured a dark ruby red with a very creamy beige head.
Smell: little bit of biscuit, caramel, dried as well as some tropical fruits.
Taste: roasted malt upfront. Notes of molasses, caramel and dried fruits. The hops contribute a sweet herbal flavor and a little bit of licorice. Biscuity at the finish.
Mouthfeel: surprisingly it is rich with a full-bodied mouthfeel.
Overall: It's a beer that has a somewhat savory and sweet combination of flavors. The flavors are a bit heavy though, I wonder what it would be like if it was stepped down to an IPA.
