12oz bottle traded from Hinda65 in Utah.
Bath time.
Poured into smokestack snifter - a dark chocolate mahogany body with a butter colored head of 1/2 finger.
I can smell the alcohol but it's sweet and not astringent. Very tight. Aromas of alcohol soaked raisin, sticky plum, figs, tons of scorched brown sugar, molasses, and old-timey licorice. Incredible.
Raisin and plum on the palate, with plenty of alcohol burn, and a tiny zing of sourness. The tang isn't overly intrusive but it is thoroughly noticeable. Some apples and brown sugar, whiskey and rye bourbon, and strawberry twizzlers.
Feel is very creamy with a wonderful carbonation and a pleasing alcohol heat. You know this is high ABV, you can sense every percent.
Overall, a very capable barrel-aged quad worth checking out. The bacteria didn't take hold until a few months in the bottle, so I would still say this is a win but if you have some hanging around you'd be best to drink it now. Cheers.
