a pleasant and drinkable sour ale here, nicely stained a deep pink to light purple color and very clear from the bottle. its shiny and vibrant in color but without much head or visible life to it. the nose is sharply lactic, but it doesnt drink that sour, as there is a little sweetness from the berries through it to keep it from being too much. its almost a little one dimensional as i taste it, just fruit and acid, but they go well together and there is enough depth to the fruit to keep it from being boring. i get a clean lemon note right away from the souring, and then a more vinous complexion as it warms, cherry and raspberry notes along with the more jammy blackberries to me. its quite tidy in terms of fermentation, and the fruit seems real enough to me to not have this be cheap tasting. it definitely needs some carbonation, i dont like when these things are still, but its cool beer and i like the taste a lot. i havent had a ton of their stuff, but it seems like these guys cover quite a wide range of styles rather competently. better than many, even in its simplicity and familiarity.
