Poured a good deep gold colour nice thick head that is frothy in my pint glass, looks to be heavily carbonated... smells reminiscent of Banana Bread Baking :D ... interesting. Malts are also lurking beneath this aroma, as well as Chiffon and Sumac. Taste is hard for me to place... I WAS presuming this to be a pale ale as that IS what the label indicated. It is beginning to seem a common theme for SD beers :( this said, If in truth it is a KOLSCH, I have had only a few to compare it to... anywho, tastes slightly tangy, semi-bitter, and I almost want to say there is a little bit of a caramel taste to this also.. what ever the case, the more I like it! It has only a slightly crisp finish in the same way a glass of lemon water would for instance. Over all, didn't like it at first... by 2\3 through the glass I liked it quite a bit!

A : Cloudy haze with a lemony tint, and a nice fluffy cap about 2 fingers tall, leaving respectable hills of lacing as it recedes slowly.
S : Faint aroma, but of lemon pith, squeezed orange/pulp, and crisp malts.
T : A fresh, crisp Kolsch flavor with lemon, orange, and other estery qualities. The malts are crisp, clean, and appropriately balanced. The Vienna hop is polite, balancing the malty sweetness. It ends with slight lemon and summery crispness. The flavors are however, faint, and I wish they were louder.
F : Refreshing, slightly nippy, well-carbonated. It ends with a crispness that would go great on a hot summer day.
O : I wish the flavors and aromas were bolder and louder. They could be 2-3x as flavorful, and not change a thing, and this beer would rival some of the best Kolsches out there. Otherwise a pretty solid offering.
