Batch 2, I guess we can unretire it...

Pours an effervescent copper with a thumb of beige head. Murks up at the bottom of the bottle, nice lacing & above average lacing

S: Slight funk, pear skins, white grape

T: Follows the nose, mango, tangerine & grapefruit peel up front. Dry with grapefruit peel, mustyness as this warms. Finishes with woody & grapefruitty hops, dryness

MF: Medium body, slight carbonation, nice balance

Drinks easy, if you like'em a little funky; you'll like this

On tap at McNellie's OKC. Pours a milky orange with minimal head. The aroma is pretty minimal, but you can smell some tropical fruit. Tastes of mango, malt and, as another reviewer noted, the brett combines to give it a definite taste of aspirin. Medium mouth. I'm normally a fan of bretty beers, but this probably isn't something I'll revisit.

Not a typical pale ale. The hops are subdued in aroma and flavor, but seem to pair well with the tropical fruit funkyness. The carbonation is soft. The palate is on the lighter side of medium. Gentle bitterness of aspirin and toasted bread crust, slight pit fruit and caramel sweetness. Murky amber brown with copper highlights and a thin cap of tan bubbles that dissipates pretty quickly leaving light lace. It's good but not at all what I expected.
