Purchased from the brewery on 12/24/2019.
No date on can, code on bottom is 3179 08:45
Appearance:
Hazy reddish brown, One-finger tan head that falls to nothing. low in visible carbonation.
Aroma:
Caramel and Munich malts, but competes with a moderate vinegary/cheezy smell that increases as it warms up and the head disappears.
Flavor:
Pretty much matches the smell. Not very good. Hint of cucumber.
Mouthfeel:
Thin, lacking CO2.
Overall:
I know that Diamond Bear has had some turnover in their brewery staff lately, so this batch may have fallen through the cracks for QC somehow. Hopefully the new brewer can straighten things out. The Ryeno Rye Pilsner is pretty decent, as is most of what they make. This Cubby Series Bock tastes and smells of infection (vinegar-acetobacter) and very old hops (grated hard cheeses). This cannot be a really old can because this was released in November 2019.
