Pale gold with a huge white head that left good lacing. Grassy aroma linked in to the notes of citrus. Taste covers the familiar pale ale footprint of hops supported by a firm malt backbone. Bitterness is evident but not overpowering. Medium bodied mouthfeel with good carbonation. Overall, a solid offering but nothing out of the ordinary.

Poured from a 12 oz. can. This beer came gushing out, resulting in a golden color with several inches of head. Smell is of citrus. Taste is light citrus, malts, smooth and easy drinking. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a pretty good beer.

This is a very nice pale! No wonder! It contains my favorites, Cascade and Centennial hops. Especially now when hardly anybody is making this kind of straight-up non-flavored authentic ale anymore, it is fantastic to find this! There is a slight bitter finish but it is not too much (like Dale's Pale Ale, for ex. which is way too bitter - for me, anyway). The alcohol content is a perfect 5%, and it pours golden with a nice head that stays. Since Monument Brewing in Baltimore stopped making Pagoda Ale last year - which was my absolute favorite - it is nice to discover this and I will certainly be a fan, while they keep making it anyway! (Please don't stop!)
LATER Dec 2025 - Yikes - way too bitter. My taste has changed. Changed rating down from 4.45.

This one drank like a malty old-schoolish beer. Not objectionable, but not of the newer style of APAs that drink so well. As part of s sampler 12 pack this one did provide a non-IPA diversion.

Reviewed from notes. On tap at the brewpub. This was poured into a pint glass. The appearance was a semi-soft burnt orange, somewhat like copper color with a bar pour’s kind of slim white head, dies off pretty quick, no lace. The aroma had some grapefruit/citrusy hop qualities up front flowing over an "old school" style of an APA caramel malty backbone. The flavor was basically the same as the aroma blending the sweet to the bitter fairly nice and punches the aftertaste and finish in the same sort of way. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Though the ABV seemed a bit high for the style, it does seem like the brewer hit that on, somewhat. Overall, nicely done APA worthy of coming back to if I could.
