Reviewed from notes. On tap at the brewpub. This was poured into a pint glass. The appearance was a semi-soft dark burnt orange almost amber color with a bar pour’s kind of slim white head. No lace. The aroma had some nuts, somewhat like pecans, then some toffee/caramel malts. Slight grassy and citrusy hops. The flavor leaves a little bit to be desired - but mainly malty dry with some sweetness. Malty - nutty aftertaste with the same sort of finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a pretty good sessionability about it. ABV felt fine. Overall, mostly worthy amber ale of coming back to - aroma and feel are the best things about this though.

Poured from a growler into a nonic pint glass, a little less than 20 hours after bottling.

Copper and chestnut opaque bodied, with a very nice forming nearly three finger t all head. Fluffy topped and vanilla tan colored, with very solid retention down to a finger, and pin head sized bubbles in the mix.

Real nice tea like aromas off the brew, hop herbal tea, slightly oolong and black tea. Slight hint of orange as well and muted caramel sweetness.

Much of the palate takes a good hop angle. Light bodied and slightly wet, not much caramel or malt presence in flavor. Hop angle bitterness is quite noticeable particularly in the mid palate, but nicely flavorful. Much like the nose tea like and herbal, but a slight big earth warmth manages to come out as well from the hop flavor. Southern tea like flavor on the finish, minus of course the huge amounts of sweetness, bringing out a nice fruity citrus oily hop character.

This is a real nice summer hop brew, strangely it's almost the unsweetened beer version of Southern tea to me. However, it misses much of the amber character and was not what I was expecting or look forward to in this style. Decent brew none the less.
