Took home a crowler from Dewey Beer Co. Pours one of the haziest, most turbid looking beers I have ever seen. Yellowish with a hint of beige and orange, a large creamy head rises to the top and retains well. This must be Dewey’s take on NEIPA.
Aromas of freshly squeezed orange juice and moderate herbal dank. Light tones of tropical fruit, papaya, pear and a subtle malt background.
Upon first tasting it, my impressions were that this was one of those juicy IPAs with no bitterness. It had a tropical fruit sweetness with a clean finish. Yet, soon enough the palate begins to dry and the zest of the citrus adds a little kick. Further still, flavors of sharp pine combine with the grapefruit and orange pith to add a nice little sting. The finish becomes moderately bitter, dry and citrusy.
Medium bodied with a dynamic mouthfeel that is a combination of juicy, dry, citrus and sharp pine, yet, creamy and smooth at times.
A nice take on the NEIPA style.
