Simply delightful - for a sour, very smooth and appealing to the palet...beautiful plum color, with equally surprising initial feel and texture. Outstanding!!!

First, it's the same rendition, but this version has an even 7 % ABV. This comes a few years after the initial release, so we may not be reviewing the same brew. Second, this is seriously carbonated, so if you like your beers at the optimum cellar temperature, you might want to refrigerate this and spare the mess. Of course the carbonation produces a massive head, at room temperature. It's barely perceptionably tinted with the color of the liquid and it leaves almost no glass lacing. That color is a dull and opaque mauve or dark amber mauve. Once the entire pint contents are in a clear glass liter mug, its aroma opens up. It's unmistakably a berry mix, a little sweet and a little earthy. The taste is a somewhat tart berry blend in a thin, but enjoyable medium. Just as with most fruited sours, there's very little sour. But here, there's a good dose of tart. None of the included berries dominate the flavor and their union is a tasty one. For some reason, there seems to be a subtle tannin inclusion to the taste that's just a bit distracting. Still, this is pretty good, an above average fruited sour with a well disguised ABV.
