Purchased a crowler from Dewey Beer Co, one of my favorite destinations in Delaware.
Pours a hazy yellow color, and a modest head that soon dissipates and yields a thin ring of lacing.
A pungent nose emits herbal and dank aromas combined with zesty tropical and citrus fruit. Pineapple stands out in particular, along with notes of freshly squeezed orange juice. In addition, the vanilla adjunct adds sweetness.
Although it is immediately evident that this is a juicy flavored IPA, the sweetness begins relatively modestly. Again, the zesty pineapple flavor dominates against a dry cracker malt backbone. Additional flavors of orange pulp and light lemon add a touch of tartness, while the palate remains dry. Spicy herbal hops develop and add a nice hops burn, a mild bitterness, and a resiny finish. Yet, the juicy flavors begin to open up like a fruit that begins to ripen, while the vanilla contributes to this developing sweetness.
Medium bodied, slightly crisp with a moderate carbonation. Very easy to drink with a nice balance of juice, dryness and some bitterness.
Nice hazy IPA that is easygoing and sessionable.
