Pours a hazy yellow color, murky and mostly opaque. A large white head soon dissipates and leaves a ring of lacing.
Nice fruity hops aroma that evokes
muted but solid notes of peach, orange pith, lemon and even hints of coconut. The nose is also herbal and grassy with notes of pine.
The taste even exceeds the aroma in its understated, delicate, yet supple balance of soft dry malts and hops complexity. Opens lightly sweet and fruity with notes of citrus zest, grapefruit and orange pith, peach, coconut and pear, balanced with a creamy oats and dry cracker malt. The hops flavors are strong with a combination of pithy citrus flavors, light tropical juiciness, subtle lemon tartness, as well as significant herbal contributions. The herbal component truly begins to develop and almost steal the show with its strong leafy, grassy, piny and peppery hops burn.
Medium bodied, smooth and creamy mouthfeel with a gentle carbonation. A dry finish packs some hops spice going down the throat, along with a resiny and bitter linger.
Really good! I had this both on tap at Dewey Beer Co and in a crowler to go. I give the edge to the crowler for its better head retention. So drinkable and finely crafted.
