Picked up a Crowler at the brewery this past weekend. (5/30/22)

A - Opaque apricot tan color with dense, tight bubbled white lacing.

S - Apricot, passion fruit, tropical fruit, some berry, and a slight bit of spiciness.

T - Nice pineapple and tropical fruit presence that show up midway through and linger to the very end.

M - Thick, silky, and leaves some heat in the back of the throat on the way down with a fair amount of dryness on the back of the tongue.

O - This is a nice, fruity, T-IPA that sports enough heat to not let you forget this is a serious beer.

From the can, pours a hazy yellow orange color. A very large foam, mushroom cloud head displays great retention and frothy, sticky lacing.

Juicy and tropical aromas of mango, pineapple, coconut, guava, papaya and passion fruit. There are also aromas of sweet doughy malt, alcohol spice and citrus fruit.

Full bodied, juicy, sticky and sweet. Biscuity and doughy malts give way to fruity and resinous hops, as well as alcohol spices. Big jammy and tropical fruit flavors align with the aroma, as well as citrusy notes of oranges and grapefruit. Sweet and boozy yet with a resiny bitterness. The finish is resiny with a significant alcohol warmth. The relatively gentle carbonation leads to a frothy and smooth mouthfeel.

I first had this on tap at the brewery and really liked it. For some reason I didn’t enjoy it as much in the can format and drinking at home. It’s certainly complex, juicy and rife with flavorful hops spices. However, with the high ABV comes a decadent sweetness that makes it more of a slow supper. Nevertheless, for what it is intended as (triple IPA) this is what should be expected.
