With a can like this, I just had to hit play on this one and I was glad I did. For how typical it smelt, I was actually surprised how much fruit and flavor they were able to pack inside. An interesting take on the NEIPA, but rather unlike some of the gold standards from Alchemist or Trillium, who have that space locked down pretty well. There was no bitterness at all, almost like a smoother session, It wasn’t what I was expecting at all, but sometimes in life you need a good surprise. Solid offering from Dewey once again!

Pours a hazy golden color. A modest head rapidly dissipates as does the lacing.

Surprisingly it does not open with much aroma. After a delay, I begin to detect notes of soft notes of peach, apricot, passion fruit, lychee, lime and lemon tart. Faint aromas of cracker and pine are very subtle on the nose.

Fruity but not too juicy, as the hops provide clean and subdued notes of tropical and stone fruit. A soft cracker and creamy oats base supports notes of passion fruit, papaya, peach, apricot, grapefruit and lime. There is practically no bitterness to start with, and a late developing piney and resiny spice.

Medium bodied with a smooth, soft and creamy mouthfeel. The finish is semi dry, somewhat juicy and with a very modest bitterness.

It has some understated juicy flavors. However, I would have liked a bit more assertive spice from the hops. Nevertheless, it’s smooth and easy drinking.
