On draught at Dewey Beer Co, Harbeson, DE.
Pours a hazy, beige to orange color. A moderate frothy head retains well and yields lacing.
The nose is nice and dank with herbal aromas and loads of resiny tropical fruit. Notes of mango, papaya, passion fruit, pineapple and orange and peach marmalade. Aromas of grass, pine and verbena.
Fruity, juicy and jammy with a firm biscuity and doughy malt backbone supporting a boat load of hops flavors. Notes of mango, papaya, passion fruit, peach and zesty notes of grapefruit and orange. Moderately to assertively sweet, with a touch of alcohol spice, caramel and honey. Nevertheless, it is nicely contrasted by semi sharp grassy, peppery and piney spices and a lightly resiny bitterness. It finishes smooth and dry with a resiny linger.
Full bodied but with a lightness that is good for drinking. The mouthfeel is smooth, even lightly creamy, but with some good hops prickliness. The carbonation is moderate.
This was a good DIPA that’s relatively easy to drink for the strength. Teaming with hops flavors, it is juicy and well spiced. I would have again.
