Standard pour yields no head, rather just a slight khaki collar that is quick to fade.... Color is a still hazed tangerine color... The nose is mostly orange and pineapple with a hint of vanilla... I don't pick up any discernible grapefruit notes... The virus shines through on the palate... The grapefruit rises to the surface as well... There is a good insensity to the flavor profile with a healthy competition between sweet and tart... Dense and medium bodied... Little to no carbonation... Really good beer... a notch down from world class, but that is more than okay...

Ok Ok Ok ... all the Secret Machine is about limited run and they all disapear and Dewey don't intend to bring them back ... YES it is STUPID... YES it is useless...
but you know what? If the beer is good... I don't mind.
Those Dewey bla bla stuff sells good for a beer hub like ours !
So let's go for this beauty ! Crisp ! it is a "smoothie" but the mix of agrume give what the sour lover wants. Of course, the adding of fruit pulp will cover this with a good amount of sugar taste.
This beer is just so perfect !
Again ... you must know what you are talking about! You cannot expect something else than a smoothie. You cannot make link with ale, wheat etc... it is pretty unique. I think for many it will be a HIT ... but for some it will be a complete Miss.... If it is not for you ... just skip !

Poured from the can into a nonic(k) pint glass.
Deep orange and peach colored, with a bit of cloudy and opaque character. Not too muddled or chunky looking but a bit muddy with at least a nice foamy off white head of about three fingers and little retention.
Aroma is a bit too grocery store juice. Large amounts of juiced pineapple mostly that dominates, and doesn't seem to provide much other fruited variety. Minimal tinge of sourness, and nicely it seems a small sweet biscuit malt note just barely picks through possibly.
Palate brings much of a fruited flavor, almost exclusively in favor of everything else. Large amounts of pineapple, but the mid palate does get a bit more fruit varied with hints of oily citrus zest primarily. Finishes with a bit of tinged sourness, and more of a sense of fine flattened soda like carbonation in mouthfeel. A bit of supermarket carton flavor, a bit of malt presence just brings things around enough to remind you there is still a beer in your hand.
For a fruited sour, it gets a bit too juice like and has just barely enough sour and beer character to stick with enjoyment. Otherwise it reminds me more of fruit soda than anything else.

Pours a tepid orange color. A large fizzy head dissipates just as soon after it rises. There is a bit of fruit purée residue at the end of the can’s pour.
Predictably, aromas of pineapple, grapefruit and orange dominate the nose. However, I also pick up notes of kiwi, lime, passion fruit, wheat and a touch of grassy and semi dank hops aromatics.
Flavors of pineapple, grapefruit and orange are supported by a gummy wheat backbone. Overall, it is a bit on the sweet side with cola like qualities and notes of vanilla, marshmallow and possibly lactose. Surprisingly, it is not particularly sour, instead, minimally tart. It also has a hint of grassy and peppery hops bitterness.
Medium bodied with a frothy, juicy and smoothie like mouthfeel. The finish is smooth with a touch of tartness. The carbonation is initially fizzy, but loses some of its liveliness.
I’ve had many variations of Dewey Beer Co’s Secret Machine and have enjoyed most. However, this one was too sweet and orange cola like, and, most importantly, lacked the sour quality I like for the style.

13 oz pour on tap at Lures Bar & Grille. Finally...a Secret Machine that isn't overly sweet from cloying marshmallow. Perfectly juicy and tart citrus/tropical fruit with spritzy carbonation and a smooth wheaty malt backbone. Delicious.
