Pours a dark brown color with a foamy tan head that lasts quite a while. Aroma of chocolate and roasted malts. Taste is sweet black coffee. Smooth and creamy.

Small tan head didn't last very long; only left skimpy lacing. Coffee a significant contributor to the aroma. Dark chocolate also adds a touch. Flavor of roasted malts overpowered whatever hops were being showcased, except for just a bit in the aftertaste. Medium bodied mouthfeel. Liked rather than loved.

A can poured into a Nonic.
The caramel malt has an interesting root-beer flavored accompaniment.
Chocolate, vanilla, sassafras, nutmeg and a little cinnamon come to mind flavor-wise.
An interesting combination with no real hops flavor to speak of.
Some chunks of brown goop in the bottom were rather odd as well.
More of a Holiday Warmer than a Stout IMO.

6 oz draft pour at Lures Bar & Grille. Lots of coffee but unfortunately it seems to be light roast, which makes the entire beer taste sour. There's some nice roastiness as well and it's not undrinkable by any means but overall it was a big disappointment.

Poured into a Reuben's Brew small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing nearly opaque in the glass with a quarter finger khaki head that dissipates to a large patch with light, slippery lacing. Aroma of dark toasted and biscuit malt, drip coffee, Postum and cocoa. Flavor is dark toasted malt with light char, drip coffee and bakers chocolate, slight sweetness shows up in the finish. Medium bodied with light to medium creaminess. A mellow American stout with modest finishing bitterness, but good coffee and chocolate character. The wave of mild sweetness in the finish was unexpected but enjoyable; the overall flavor is fairly dry. A good evening with two nice stouts.

This was my first brew from this brewery, and it wasn't bad. It's very heavy on the coffee flavor, so if you like that in your stouts you'll like this one for sure. The coffee did overpower the chocolate and I would have liked a bit more balance there personally. But it's well-made and a good dry stout overall.

On tap at the brewery served in a Will Belcher glass.
Solid black color which holds when held in sunlight. No cap, a cream look ring that leaves no lacing.
Light sweet chocolate and black coffee aromas.
Semi-sweet chocolate coffee flavor.
The body is light and very smooth with a touch of roasted malt. The chocolate adds a touch of sweetness ahead of the dry finish.
Easy drinking and good mid-afternoon starter brew.

Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a black color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of roasted malts, some chocolate. Taste is the same as the aroma, a touch of sweetness. Feels medium/full bodied in the mouth and overall is a decent beer.
