Poured from the can into a teku glass.
Good rich creamy head, at a simple two finger height with tan color and fine bubbles. Sticks around for a bit for a good settling and bowled collar. The body color is a real dark fudge brown. Thick and with a matte like appearance but very bold and some hint of tan carbonation popping up here and there. Very nice looking stout.
Just a gangbusters and excellent aroma. Truly… cookie chocolate waffer with a nice sweet biscuit tone. Dark cookie crunch and hints of light vanilla and lactose with an ice cream flavor. But wait.. There's even more here. Dark roast malt flirting with carob and even some coffee in the mix. Bold and big and shockingly not even a hint of booze for it's giant 15% labelled punch. This is exceptionally well done on the nose, even if it is a goofy flavor somewhat.
Very fascinating palate. The alcohol kick really puts the beer into different territory. Kirsch and coffee like brandy flavors, mixing with dark chocolate cookies in the mid palate. Hot hop and a great roasted malt bitterness on the finish accentuated by the alcohol. Bitterness brings real great aftertaste of coffee, brandy, dark carob chocolate flavors, tangy molasses, crisp waffers and even some nougat like nuttiness. Mouthfeel doesn't quite get velvet but still has some richness, and touching syrupy feel due to high abv content.
Real unique take on this flavored stout that makes some very neat surprises too. If cookies and cream is your jam, this is your beer for sure.
