Canned on: ??????
A - Pitch black pour with very dense, thick, caramel colored creamy lacing.
S - Yeasty with some hints of Belgian candy sugar over top of a toasted chocolate malt base and light banana.
T - Roasted cocoa and subtle/light chocolate char malt base with banana, some yeasty presence, a little bit of dark Belgian candy sugar, and ends on the sweeter side.
M - Light syrupy body that's silky and frothy around the edges, lip smacking sticky, alochol warming in the back of the throat, and a wet coagulating finish with a slight bit of dryness in the middle of the tongue.
O - Dewey doesn't give much detail on this beer, it's no doubt a Belgian Imperial Stout. I dig it and would gladly buy more.

Poured from the can into a large snifter glass.
Inked out of the can with a nearly jet black and oily shine, filling with just barely a mocha head of half a finger that dissolves to a good 2mm penciled tan collar. Whispy top and a little bit of shine giving a sense of real darkness and oil.
Aroma is interesting. Heavy banana ester which is surprising, mixing with lots of dark sour molasses as well. Gives a unique and unexpected banana bread like character. Lots of dark and black licorice as well, with touching light heat which is very nicely contained. Still comes off a bit odd but pretty solid and well controlled abv.
Palate continues the theme with some surprises. Slick bodied with a larger black licorice flavor than anticipated. Hits bitter sweet actually with a candy like note of taffy and still more licorice. I wouldn't be surprised if my tongue was coated black right now. There's a playful like spice in the back that hints earth like tones with just a faint touch of banana. Heat and warm, but surprisingly not boozy.
Pretty good, but some of the flavors are just a bit powerful and dominating. Still it's a good one but also one that takes some time to enjoy.
