It's not a bad pour that emptied a pint can's contents into a clear glass liter mug. That basically means there was no ridiculously overly starched stark white head that over-took the vessel. Still, it's a modern American IPA, so there are limits to the expectations. Let's start with the aroma, which isn't bad. It does have a nice piney reference, but that's it. Its color is darkly orange-amber and it's opaque without being murky. The head is modest, off-white and apparently enduring. The taste is a little heavy on the oats and brings a bit too much of alcohol. It's not as hoppy as it should be. There's good stratified glass lacing, a witness to a decent body. At best, this is an easily poundable high octane brew, with OK, not great IPA characteristics. Maybe not worthy of a taste test among the best in its category, but it's fine for what it is.
