12 oz. bottle, an undated bottle, but these just hit shelves a few weeks ago. Another creation from the beer shelf at Aldi; this one doesn't look too much different than the regular IPA also made under the Wild Range moniker. Lots of big chunky haze and sediment is visible in the bottle before I even crack into it.
Poured to a Duvel tulip.
Pours a crisp golden orange, not too unlike many other traditional IPA's.. Head is small and inconsistent. Falls quickly but leaves some ok lacing. Appears adequately carbonated.
Aromas of fresh fruitiness & a touch of floral hoppiness. Notes of tangerine, mango, green apple, grape, elderflower. Not particularly intricate or full of depth, but for an 8.99 six pack, this is hitting all the right notes.
Flavor is fresh, decent, delicious, not too far apart from it's regular counterpart, but perhaps with a bit more "juiciness", more citrusy, more zesty tasting.. notes of tangerine, orange, grapefruit zest, has that same earthy yeast profile found in the original, which I find rather delicious.
Feel is crisp & drinkable. Not bitter, piney, or resinous on the finish. Rather fruit-forward, semi-dry.. Overall, this is pretty much everything you could ask for from a 9 dollar six pack.. when factoring price into your rating, these beers deserve a 4.5, but as it is we'll give it a nice 4 overall.
