Background: Former PA resident who lived near two Victory Brewing locations—DirtWolf was my go-to DIPA. Now in Florida, DirtWolf is rare, so I picked up Wild Range IPA at Aldi. Not a true DIPA, but for the price it’s become my daily drinker.
Appearance (4.5/5): Hazy golden-orange, dense off-white head with good retention and lacing.
Aroma (4/5): Juicy orange, apricot, light grapefruit, herbal hops, and subtle biscuit malt.
Taste (4/5): Citrus peel, apricot jam, mild pine bitterness, malt sweetness underneath. Not as resinous or complex as DirtWolf, but still very hop-satisfying.
Mouthfeel (4/5): Medium body, spritzy carbonation, clean finish, easy-drinking.
Overall (4/5): Great value IPA—balanced, flavorful, and highly drinkable. Perfect everyday option when DirtWolf isn’t available.

This is very reminiscent of the black hearted ale by Bells. Almost an exact copy which is great for me because that’s one of my favorite IPAs period and it’s so hard to find. Creamy mouthfeel, rye taste with earthy bitterness. No bells and whistles just really solid.

My bottle says it is from Rockwall Brewing of New York. Wild Range Brewing Company Imperial IPA has a medium, off-white head and a clear, copper appearance, with a bit of lacing. The aroma is of caramel and brown bread crust. The flavor is of piney hop resin, sweet brown bread crust, strong bitterness, and tea. Wild Range Brewing Company Imperial IPA has a medium body and a semi-dry finish.

Smells like a swimming pool. Taste is fine for the price, pine, pineapple, more boozy than it should be, but overall not unpleasant.

12 oz. bottle, no date, but these just hit shelves a week or so ago. Another find from the Aldi beer shelf.
A: Darker than it's regular and hazy counterparts, that's for sure. Very burnt sienna colored. Small half-finger of khaki / off-white head. Appears well carbonated and leaves some ok lacing behind.
S: Aroma is slightly boozy, fruity, fumey. Only slightly medicinal. Slight notes of caramel? Vanilla? It's not the worst thing I've smelled, but definitely no complexity, no layers, no thought given.
T: Slightly earthy, twiggy, with notes of caramel in there. Alcohol warmth present but not distracting. Very bland. Not herbal, piney, or very bitter at all.
F: Easy to drink stuff, not harsh or offensive, but there just isn't much going for this one at all. The 8.5% abv is noticeable in the taste more so than the feel, where it is hardly noticeable at all. Slightly bitter finish, but that's the closest I've come to flavor here.
Overall, definitely enjoy the others better than this one; the flavor was comprised in turn for the higher alcohol content; probably the only difference here.
