A ways down Tennyson, a Mexican food and tequila spot next door and in the rear a fun, quality and separate brewery and tap house. I suppose you will need to find some parking on Tennyson, not always easy, but it improves a lot if you go a few blocks away.
Mid sized room with tables here and there, and in an outside area that was tented and heated when I visited in November.
Friendly staff, pleasant crew of fellow imbibers, quality in house created beers available on tap (about 12-15 or so) and in tall cans in the fridge by the bar to enjoy off premises. I enjoyed a real nice juicy NE IPA. They had available a nice variety of NEIPA, IPA, saisons, sours, marzen, and wheat beer.
Pleasant music on at a reasonable level, encouraging easy conversations and enjoyable imbibing. Maybe a TV or two on....no real food, just some bar snacks...Pleasant, grown up kinda spot.....well worth a visit

Love the vibe here and the English pub feel. Great bartenders - knowledgeable and friendly - and always a good variety on tap or in cans. The Great Great Great Gam Gam, an American Double, is one of my all time favs.

CTA is about community, quality and camaraderie! Their beers have opened my eyes to styles I would have never tasted. Every member of their team pours their hearts into this place and it extends to everyone that walks in the door!

A very nice space with a beautiful interior and good natural lighting.
Beer selection was pretty extensive and featured a good number of lagers, which seems rare these days. Being close to Hops and Pie is a major plus as you can visit both on the same outing. Not far from Small Batch liquors either, so you can do some shopping.
Beer prices are pretty fair and service is competent, but felt a little condescending to me. Other than that, a cool place to visit. Oh and the beers are good.

Good representation of various beer styles but know-it-all bartenders that are rude don't make me want to return.

V-Call to Arms is medium to small space located in the Berkeley Highlands area of Denver, about 4 miles from Downtown. The place has a nice neighborhood feel in what is rapidly changing (read: gentrifying) area. It has some dark leather bench seating and a wooden bar that seats roughly 15 people that suggests a pub or Cheers, but with the overhead garage doors that open to the parking lot that suggest small Denver brewery. The place was close to full but not overcrowded when I visited on a Wednesday evening. Mostly locals. No kids.
Q-I really liked the Vienna Lager that I tried but was less impressed with the dunkelweiss. I'll have to go back for more analysis.
Ser-The bar tenders were prompt, friendly, and knowledgeable. Beers were poured in appropriate glassware with the right amount of head. Solid.
Sel-There were 10-ish beers on offer when I visited. Call to Arms has an interesting selection of old-world styles, German and Belgian, as well as a few American styles. There are a few lagers on the menu to go with the ales. If you are looking for ten different IPAs, you might want to look elsewhere.
O-I liked this place and will definitely return to try more beers. Props to them for mixing the old world with new in a way that keeps the character of both styles.

really stoked on this place, and from the buzz on the streets, everyone else in denver is too. some folks from avery have gone big on tennyson street, perhaps the fastest booming area of the city. the space is amazing, you can tell a lot of thought and attention went into the taproom. exposed brick, a three sided wooden bar, english pub feel, but clean and new with a lot of wood features and a recessed floor that gives it a half basement feel, but all open on the side. patio going in soon too i think. super impressive space. after a couple of beers, it was obvious the same level of planning and care has gone into the beers. the clintonian pale was excellent and a great all day drinker, and the saison was also fantastic. usually i roll into a brewery and know exactly what i want, whatever the most interesting beer on the menu is. here though, they are all interesting and inspired sounding, and it was really tough to just pick a few. i am already dying to go back and try the rest. service was real friendly, when it slowed down at the bar she came to the table, i really like that welcoming vibe. food trucks frequent this place too, so no worries they arent cooking. definitely one of the top new breweries in colorado right off the bat, i cant wait to see whats coming next. really worth a visit!
edit: many years later this place is still killing it with the beers. the vibe seems more relaxed now, obviously less pressure on it now than when they first opened, but they have a perfect location with a captive audience in this blown up area. great beers, fine service, chill hang, they havent lost a step at all...
