Can't believe I didn't review this sooner as I have been coming here since it opened. The brewery is more akin to a home brewer store front along Rt. 114. There is a couple of tables inside and more than a handful outside. The vide comes from outstanding summer days on Shelter Island where you bicycle up to the brewery or take a quick trip from the beach or if you are just passing through for the north/south fork. The place does offer food but the best bet is to go to Maria's which shares the building; some of the best Mexican food you can find.

The beers are unique. They use a lot of ingredients from Shelter Island. Most of the beers are quite herbal and yeasty. I have issues with the beers being too yeasty or infected on some instances. They need to filter their beers as I usually can only drink two because of the yeast content.

Definitely worth the stop as the beers are quite unique.

Nice little brewery along the route 114 run from north ferry to south. They had 6 offerings on draft, plus growler fills and 6 packs to go. The Ferry and Seaplane NEIPA was especially tasty. Pro Tip: next door is Maria's Cafe, and they make some incredible tacos with goat, chorizo, barbacoa, and other authentic meats. Great cheap eats and a low price. The owners of Shelter Island Brewery are good people, and make sure to talk with the customers. Beer selection is nothing you may go crazy about, but you really come here for the experience of grabbing a pint with the locals and vacation crowd after a day at the beach. Worth a visit for sure if in the Breenport\Sag Harbor area.

My family and I stumbled on this friendly place while on the island for my cousin's wedding. Little place shares a buliding with a Mexican restaurant and has a few picnic tables out front and a few more inside. About eight selections but a few were sold out and not too much under 6% abv (it was lunch). We settled on the Plzn, which was yeasty and cloudy. Food was okay but not special. Decent little place if in the neighborhood.

Small shack like building on island that one must take a mildly pricey ferry to get to. Service bar to left of entry serves about 6, with table inside and out. 11 beers on tap, the one I had was very good. Some small plates. Friendly service.

Returning in 2018, discovered great new beers and will keep coming back: Wit is wonderful, 114 DIPA and Dune Cottage event better in 2018.

This two-year old brewer makes UFLAFFEN, one of the most exciting beers I have ever tasted out of 1100.

I tried 8 of their beers in flights and settled on UFLAFFEN & 114 IPA to take home. Great beer, great artisan brewer. Much to be said of a small batch, local, herbal, local ingredient, over infused craft brewer. A true confectioner, gardener and flower shop. Bravo.

Overall, this brewer packs its small batches with herbs, which are mostly native to Shelter Island, and seasonal. Fantastic tea-like brews to be found here along with good spirits, food, and craft.

Proud to be 1st reviewer this wonderful place. Dont miss it.
