A malty IPA finished with the New Zealand Motueka hop. This particular hop variety imparts floral notes with a hint of tropical fruit. The addition of oats in this batch gives it a full bodied mouth feel. Dry hopped with Mosiac hops. The Dodecahedron (Dough – Deca – He- Dron) may sound like a complicated name, but it is an IPA with a smooth finish.

Lithology Dodecahedron from a16 ounce can was tasted in mid-July, 2020 on Long Island, NY. Refrigerator chilled ale was poured into a beer glass. Color is a deep amber. There is a moderate slightly off-white head. Flavor features modern fruity hop flavors, as is typical of the current crop of IPAs. This brew does provide some positives for an old beer drinker. There is a noticeable malt/oat body and a hint of hop bitterness that make this a reasonably drinkable ale for a traditional ale fan.
