Just love this beer. The cans are OK, but if you can make it to the brewery, it just has a an extra smoothness. A must try!

Very drinkable IPL. Citrus with tastes of orange & pineapple. Slightly hazy but still on the light side. Great warm weather beer that goes with everything from seafood to pizza.

Bought a 6 pack of cans to try - It's a good IPL, but not a great one. Pours a little hazy, like a New England style IPA, but is a lighter color, and - sort of - clear, like a lager. It's almost as if they were trying to make a NE IPA and decided to cold crash it at the last moment.
It's actually pretty good if you like NE IPAs, because it has most of the taste, and not much of the sediment.

Appearance: Presents a darkish golden hue with a substantial degree of haziness. White, rocky, lasting head.
Smell: Honey brushed baked bread tossed with soured stonefruit pits and a bit of citrus.
Taste: Bready barley dipped in honey. Grows a tad tangy as apricot, peach lead to citrus with faint florals, easy-going resin and melon rind - surprisingly muted for supposed all-Citra. Medium-light bitterness. Lightly chalky as you approach the less-than-crisp finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Overall: Citras Maximus is one of those IPL's I find to be rather confusing. With its almost turbid appearance and qualities, abandoning any crispness or cleanness and housing a noticeably beefier, maltier profile, the L in IPL seems to have been forgotten. Instead of constructing and executing a great lager and then building upon it with emboldened hop flavors, it just has that haphazard, thrown together feel.
