Light amber color with plenty of suds in the pint shaker. toasted malt with a vanilla hint. Sharp and fruity. Big mango and passion fruit. Barmaid described it as brewed with New Zealand hops.
Lovely aromatic IPA with a dark edge, but it's quite drinkable. Less terminally bitter than the all-too-common San Diego style of IPA. I think if Karl Strauss bottled this they'd have a winner. This is one of their "Tank Taps," brewed at the individual brewpubs, in this case LJ (La Jolla) where I had it on tap.
