Had on-tap March 4th at Alley Katz in Citrus Heights, CA
Appearance - Served up in a snifter, the brew is black with cola brown edging and a thin, cocoa-colored head sits atop. Lacing consists of a few streaks and spotting.
Smell - Certainly lives up to the name. Fudgy chocolate, lesser roast, vanilla and boozy bourbon notes.
Taste - Follows the nose. Big notes of dark and milk chocolate met by lesser bourbon character; vanilla, oak and a sweet boozy bite. Hints of caramel. Light roast creeps into the finish.
Mouthfeel - Medium to full in body with low to moderate carbonation. Slick texture before a drying, boozy finish.
Overall - Pretty tasty BA Impy Stout here from the guys at Strauss. This is a can't miss for anyone who loves the style.

Had at their La Jolla location, March 2016. Aroma is bourbon and vanilla. Taste is creamy, dark chocolate and raisins. Texture is syrupy yet smooth. Dry roasted malt aftertaste. Delicious beer that rivals BCBS.

There is plenty of bourbon and a blend of flavors from licorice, caramel, and oysters.
