Had this as the 20th Anniverssary Munich Dunkel. Poured clear brown with not much of a head. Weak lacing. Roasted nuts and malt in the nose, very grainy and flat. Mouthfeel was denser than a regular lager, without much carbonation and a long finish. Cereal and roasted grain in the flavor throughout. Some spicy hops occasionally. Not a lot of sweetness, just a lot of grain. Did not have a second, not impressive.

On tap at the Columbia St. restaurant on 3/17/09. Served in a pint glass.
Pours a crystal clear colored ruby amber with a thin brite-white head. Firm retention that stays strong, leaving some moderate looking lace back. The aromas smells of caramel sweetness, with a thick breadiness to it, as well as notes of spicy and floral hops.
The taste is a pleasant combo of caramel, grain, and bread from the Munich malts. Lots of Noble hop spicing is present as well, mixing with the malts to give this a bit of a spicy cookie feel. A firm dose of hop bitterness pulls up the back as well, nicely balancing a lot of the malt sweetness. The mouthfeel is medium bodied but not too heavy. Carbonation and overall feel is crisp, with lingering spice and bitterness not overstaying it's welcome, giving this a fairly clean finish.
Solid shot at the Munich Dunkel style here. Rich Munich malt and Noble hop character were in abundance but balanced each other nicely and the feel and drinkibility of this was spot on. This went along nicely with my meal.
