Dark but clear orange with a thin white crown that leaves sticky lines of lace all the way down the glass. Gorgeous.
Well balanced aroma consisting of some citrus notes, namely grapefruit and orange, and some pine, backed up nicely by a sweet malt backbone.
This is a very bitter DIPA with mild citrus notes and some sweet malt doing its best to provide balance.
Medium to thick mouthfeel with ample carbonation. Not incredibly drinkable due to the thick body and huge levels of bitterness.
A decent DIPA from Karl, but not nearly as good as the Big Barrel.

I tapped this cask myself (was randomly picked) at Downtown San Diego location for S.D. Beer Week.
Pours a nice but typical DIPA orange. Smells malty with some orange rind and tropical fruit. Bitter, malt, citrus fruit taste. Not very tropical and sweet.
I had this after a full meal and was a bit full. Decent drinkability.
