On-tap at Beachwood BBQ, 2013 vintage, on to the beer:

This sour ale looks washed out orange and has little head retention on top. The aroma smells a lot likepeaches with a little oak. Taking on a rather simple concept, the taste brings on peaches that feature a little sweetness and juiciness. A note of oak keeps things going. It's light bodied and gentle with the carbonation, and while this is no true lambic, it is a pleasing sour peach ale.

2013 Edition -- Draft Oct. 2015

A: Slightly sour with lots of wood, coupled with a faint peach aroma.

A: Light orange color that’s opaque with just a touch of head.

T: Light, thin peach flavor, coupled with lots of wood from the oak barrel. The beer could benefit from more of a peach presence.

M: Light bodied with light carbonation – the beer feels a bit thin.

O: I first had this beer a few years ago at Churchill’s Renaissance Day and it had a delicious peach flesh aroma and flavor. However, this beer has not aged gracefully - most of the peach essence has dissipated. Now just an adequate, very disappointed how this beer has aged.

On tap for Churchill's Renaissance 2013 at Churchill's Pub & Grille in San Marcos, CA.

Pours a hazy light orange with a foamy tan head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace slowly drip into the remaining beer on the drink down. Smell is slightly sour with butter, wood shavings, and an extremely subdued peach aroma. Taste is much the same with very watery flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of woody bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a low level of carbonation with an almost flat mouthfeel. Overall, this is a poor beer that is just a mess with unwanted aromas and flavors all around.
