Can to snifter. Side by side with Souther Tier Samoa This.
LOOK: dark black, medium beige head; fades to light lacing. Sediment looking like coca power was left in the glass at the end.
AROMA: coconut, wood, mint, chocolate. A bit weak at first, but more smells come out as it warms.
TASTE: light sweetness from coconut; some char, roasted malt, coffee, raisin. Touch of an unpleasant/discordant flavor in the finish; hard to describe...maybe lime or chalk.
FEEL: medium to full body ; minimal carbonation. Smooth.
Another good Cypress brew; though not as good as their brown ale w/ coconut or the ST Samoa This I am drinking side by side.

Bottle purchased from brewery. Pours dark brown with soda fizzy sound. Cream colored floating stuff on top. No head. Nose is of very strong nutmeg and some coconut which are so overpowering that there is no other smell. Taste is a little more pleasant. Nutmeg and coconut with powdered Nestle cocoa fading into Yoo-hoo. Aftertaste of cheap powdered cocoa. Mouth feel is flat soda with no carbonation.
I've been debating if this is the most disgusting beer I've ever drank. I believe it is.
Drain pour. Total waste of $12.
