It starts by opening a pint can and emptying its contents into a clear glass liter mug. Although initially foamy, it quickly produces a scanty head that only slightly holds a hint of the color of the ale. That color is a dull but golden amber. It's nice. The aroma is an earthy and perhaps piney one, but it's not sharp, nor is it mild. It drinks well enough, but a sharp citrus-like aspect overtakes any attempt at balance with the malt, to taste. This one is sharp, almost astringent from taste onset through its finish. There's also a little funkiest that really isn't welcomed. The body is sufficient, but not great. It doesn't stand up to the bitterness that runs throughout the tasting experience. There's no glass lacing, but that's a minor concern. A bit of an alcohol hit, but that's also a minor concern. If you like an Imperial IPA on the earthy hopped side, then this is for you.
