20oz glass at the YEG airport's US departure lounge - this is apparently brewed for the Wings restaurant chain by Sleeman.

This beer appears a clear, bright medium golden yellow colour, with a thin cap of wispy and bubbly dirty white head, which leaves a bit of striated rocky lace around the glass as things duly drop away.

It smells of gritty, grainy pale malt, bready corn, musty yeast, a hint of dry hay, and mildly skunky earthy and weedy hops. The taste is semi-sweet cornmeal, a touch of grainy malt, gasohol, stale butter, and more leafy, dead grassy hops.

The carbonation is moderate in its forcible fizziness, the body a typical medium weight, and rather pithy and clammy in its attempt at smoothness. It finishes off-dry, and very much like cold and watery buttered popcorn.

A more or less average and plain adjunct lager, in the vein of the island nation efforts to which it aspires. I would imagine that this would match well with Wings' eponymous fare, but at 11 bucks a glass, I'm not about to find out here, and besides, they just announced boarding for my flight, and early at that.
