341 mL brown bottle, western themed label.

Crystal clear caramel brew, with practically no head left after 30 seconds.

Aroma is smokey, sour and musty.

Flavour starts off on the tart side, with a hint of smoke. Very faint hop bitterness. Finishes with some sweetness but the whole thing is over very quickly. Mouthfeel is watery and carbonation is fairly high.

Overall, quite disappointing. Whiskey malt does add a unique flavour to a brew, but this one just doesn't have any other flavours to back it up with.

Thanks for the bottle Turg! Amber is the difinitive colour here. Head is creamy and off white. There is a bit of peat in the aroma, but that is well hidden by yeasty esters and sweet woody aromas. Malt is also here, and overpowers. Sweet malty flavours draw attention away from most other intentions, thus the smoked part is missing. Mostly sweet and thin, with a unibroue/raftman-esque finish. Ok.

Poured out a clear honey brown color with a thin off white head. The nose is sugary sweet, malt, cotton candy, smoke, toasted malt, bbq, orange. The taste has some slight smokeyness to it, balanced by some candy sweetness, a king of veggetable quality. Has a medium body and mouthfeel, slight carbonation, and finishes dry. Very drinkable, and an overall decent beer. Different, not exceptional, but good.

Fruity pebbles. Took me a while, but I finally nailed the smell. Fruity pebbles. I'm not sure if I feel good ro bad about this. But fruity pebbles. So there.

Bottle: Poured a light brown color ale with a small foamy head with minimal retention. Aroma of scotch and malt with some very very light smoke. Taste of light scotch malt with almost no smoke. The body is way too watery for the style with some low carbonation. I was expecting worst considering the brewer but by no mean is this a bad beer.

No mention of Sleeman/Unibroue on the bottle, but the address suspiciously corresponds to their new distribution center in Dorval. Go have a laugh at the wild west website, www.sanantoniobeer.com

Appearance: Translucent amber like maple syrup, the initial bright white cake of dense head tapered off into the sunset, like the cowboy at the end of the cheesy movie.

Smell: Even though it doesn't say Unibroue on the bottle, the aromas says that the U yeast imprint is in there, although subdued, about at the same level as St-Hubert, but without any of the spice.

Taste: Carbonation on the high side, the bubbles pushing the yeast and light astringency to the forefront, not helping the malt at all. It tasted quite light in fact, like a very watered down scotch, so much so that you get no alcohol flavor at all here. Aftertaste is a lingering pasty blandness that reminded me of any standard macro.

The website boasts that this Beer is supposed to resemble the drop shots cowboys used to drink in the old west. If that were to be the case here, then I'm glad the bottle says "Leave your guns at the bar", because the bartender would have gotten so much lead he'd be using his dick for a pencil for giving the cowboys whiskey diluted to homeopathic levels.
