First brewed in 2017 and remains unchanged to this day. Huge pillowy body, slight orange golden tinge, and masses of creamy dank hop saturation delivered upon every sip. It's a journey.

Malts: Golden Promise, Wheat, Oats, Flaked Wheat, Dextrose
Hops: Mosaic, Azacca, Galaxy
Yeast: London Ale III

Orangey colour, lacks the deep haze I would expect. Smell is potent fruit, grapefruit, mango, citrus nice danky pine in the backend. Smell is wonderfully identical with a thick mouth feel slight acidity, maybe a bit of burn, and a nice herbal bitterness. Very similar to the previous beer.

OCTOBER 2023.
44 cl can (€9.50).
Freshly opened, clear citrus notes and background notes of tropical and ripe fruit.
The density of the beer is noticeable as soon as it is poured into the glass, in fact it's a completely opaque pastel orange color ("hazy"/"cloudy"): the color of apricot pulp. The foam is adequate and of decent consistency.
In the mouth, an intense and fragrant taste that invades the entire palate and remains even after a bitterness that could be more pungent, although discreetly perceptible on the tongue.
Explosive flavor: yellow pulp fruit (yellow peaches, melon, yellow plums), mango, then the bitterness of citrus fruits (especially pink grapefruit, but also orange peel). All supported by a dense and full body, but which leaves no traces in terms of taste (perhaps to a minimal extent there is a slightly honeyed note), with truly dominant hops.
It's impossible not to notice that "silky" effect, typical of modern New England IPAs which want to highlight the explosive flavor of the hops at the expense of a more bitter and decisive contribution.
Alcohol that is well hidden, but you can feel it after two/three sips in a row of that dense liquid.
Full, tasty beer, above all fruity but with a pleasant bitter aftertaste: modern, but not banal: explosion of fruit on a dense body, like a "double IPA", the bitterness is noticeable, even if it is limited... good modern style beer.

440 ml can, from Vinmonopolet Kvadrat. ABV is 8%. Hops are Azacca, Galaxy and Mosaic. Opaque dirty yellow colour, moderate to small white head. Aroma of tropical fruits, citrus and yellow stonefruits. The flavour is first citric, followed by notes of the other said fruits. Hints of pine needles in the finish, moderate bitterness. Good beer.

Pours a hazy light orange with soft head that leaves loads of lacing on the glass.

Smell is juicy and a bit sweet with notes of peach, apricot and citrus. Hints of pine, dank melon and some floral whisps.

Taste is juicy, sweet and a bit dank. Notes of peach, citrus, mango, melon and pine. Soft, but distinct, bitterness and superb balance and drinkability.

Mouthfeel is medium, soft and pillowy with good carbonation.

Overall, a DIPA that deserves the hype it gets.

Pours a hazy. deep orange coloration with a medium, fluffy head. Smells of light biscuity malt and faint tropical/citrus hops, with notes of papaya and grapefruit. Taste is an excellent balance of light biscuity malt and fruity, juicy, slightly grassy and resinous hops, with tropical and citrus notes of passion fruit, papaya, mango, grapefruit and orange, as well as just a hint of pine. Finishes with a light/medium bitterness and some passion fruit, papaya and grapefruit lingering in the aftertaste. Soft, pillowy mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.

For some reason, Verdant doesn't seem to get quite the recognition they deserve in Europe, perhaps standing in Cloudwater's shadow, while their beers are often just as good. While this one may disappoint slightly in the nose, with not a lot of aroma coming through here, it really makes up for that on the tongue, with a quite a vibrant, varied and well-defined mix of sweet tropical and zesty citrus notes, with passion fruit standing out particularly, as well as some bitter and resinous accents. It's the mouthfeel that really stands out here though, being truly soft and pillowy, while there isn't a hint of booziness to this either.

One month old. Can to tumbler.

Look: Pours a full and hazy yellowish orange with a foamy head that dissipates quickly without leaving any lacing. No floaters.

Smell: Orange and mango with a fruity sweetness.

Taste: Sweet citrus fruits. Mainly orange and grapefruit. A bit tropical with hints of mango and pineapple. Medium sweetness and a bitter finish.

Feel: Full and juicy with a medium carbonation.

Overall: Nicely balanced DIPA that didn’t fully live up to my expectations which were fueled by its legendary reputation. Still a great beer with just the right amount of everything. Already looking forward to next year‘s iteration of Putty.

Putty is a great DIPA from the UK, looks like a tropical fruit smoothie with yellowy and orangy tones and completely opaque to the light, it is a thick heavy beer with a hoppy bitterness and boozines that is present in the aftertaste aswell as fruity flavors of guava, citric fruits, a bit of mango a bit of oats that you can perceive on the first taste. I drank this beer really fresh less than 4 days after being canned and I really enjoyed it, try it if you can get hold of it.

Definitely an above average DIPA and I can understand why it's so popular, but a bit too desert-y for my taste. Not overly sweet, but thick and strong. Fantastic mouthfeel. Having tried a few of their offerings, Verdant's IPA's have an interesting characteristic that the Putty carries - I can't quite place it but the word that comes to mind is bready. It's a pleasant flavor and I appreciate the differentiation, but I also want more bitter/sharp notes to balance.

Really hazy yellow color with off-white head. Aroma has milky yeast, tropical fruit notes like pineapple and tangerine, also dank hops. Taste is sweet and juicy with melon, guava, kaki and other tropical flavors. A bit astringent on the finish with light bitterness. Medium plus body with crisp carbonation. A really great NE style juicy DIPA.
