A really exciting collaboration with Origin Coffee. We've dosed this luxurious stout with lashings of cold brew washed San Fermin and recirculated the entire batch through 50kg of natural Ethiopian Goru Muda beans. Expect coffee flavours of strawberries, oranges, mango, dark chocolate and caramel in amongst a layered stout malt bill full of roast and plummy raisins.

Pours a pitch-black coloration with a medium, fluffy head. Smells of roasted malt and coffee, with hints of chocolate as well as fruity dark fruit, berry and citrus accents. Taste is an excellent balance of roasted malt, hints of chocolate, dark fruit and rich coffee notes that are both roasted and fruity, with berry, tropical fruit and citrus accents of blueberry, mango and orange in addition to the fig and plum from the malts. Finishes with a light/medium bitterness and some blueberry, mango and plum lingering in the aftertaste. Full mouthfeel with a medium/rich body and medium carbonation.
I'm not really a coffee person, in fact I don't really drink coffee at all anymore, but ironically I can quite enjoy a good coffee stout, which sometimes makes me think that I might be more into coffee if I wasn't spending way too much money on craft beer already and could afford the gourmet shit. I've had a bunch of coffee stouts and they are usually quite roasted and bitter, which I can enjoy, but I'm amazed by the fruity notes to this, with the berries and tropical/citrus accents from the coffee mixing great with the dark fruits from the malts. There really is quite a subtle complexity to this that I feel inadequate to properly appreciate due to my current level of intoxication, but god damn, jimmy, this is some serious gourmet shit. Incredibly body and depth of flavor for the ABV here.

4 months old. Can to pint glass.
Look: Pours a very dark brown, almost black. Light brown, stable head. No lacing. No floaters.
Smell: Chocolaty. Malty. Hints of coffee.
Taste: Milk chocolate sweetness combined with the bitterness of dark chocolate and coffee. Roasty and malty.
Feel: Full and creamy. Low carbonation. Drinks very smoothly.
Overall: Very good, flavorful stout. Doesn't always need to be imperial or barrel aged if it's that nicely balanced and complex. Bitter and sweet notes are complementing each other perfectly. Great beer.
