Our take on a traditional English IPA. Golden Promise and caramalts combine to provide a characterful base for the wonderful English-grown Harlequin and Cascade hops to really shine.

Copenhagen 18/3 2024. 44 cl can from Kihoskh, Sønder Boulevard, Kbh. V. White ad green can in a classic 1950 beer label design.
Pours slightly unclear golden amber with a mid-sized white head. Settles as thin, patchy layer of foam unable of covering the surface of the beer. Substantial lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a mild odor of sweet tropical fruit mingling with a rough bitter and citric scent. Peach and passion fruit. Grapefruit and lemon. Dry vibe.
Light carbonation Slightly thick, oily, soft, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is fairly intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a stronger, bitterness. A bit rough. Aftertaste is bitter. Lingers for a while. Finish is dry.
Old fashioned, bitter Indian Ple Ale a the Britons used to make them.

440 ml can, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 5.3%. Hazy amber colour, moderate to small white head. Nice aroma of fruity, piney and spicy hops, on a background of caramalts. Flavour of citric, spicy, piney and earthy hops, a little caramel, very bitter finish.

440ml can.
L: Nearly clear, pale amber colour with clouds of microbubbles rising to one finger of off-white foam head that never recedes to less than a full cap and sheets of lacing.
S: Malty to begin with but short-lived. Clean but very light.
T: Wood and citrus up-front, stewed tea finish. Beautiful malt base: semi-sweet and unctuous. Bitterness that starts moderate but builds and builds.
F: Rich, smooth, extra drying mouthfeel.
O: Despite the use of new world hops (grown in the UK) this retains all the bitter, earthy elements of an English IPA. Very nicely balanced. Bet this would be absolutely fantastic on cask with a sparkler.
