Pour was nice and lacy but this did not pour like a NEIPA. Smell was the best part of this beer. The tropical citrus guava fruit scent made this a gem. Taste didn’t quite deliver what I was expecting from the scent. Bright malts with a complex hop character made this a drinkable DIPA but I was slightly let down. The gravity of the beer, however, was well hidden by the body of the beer. The malty body and intense aroma made this a good brew.

Poured from a 12 oz can into a Dogfish Head tulip.
L: Clear medium golden pour with 2 fingers of foamy white head. Nice ring of lacing.
S: Tropical fruit. Grains.
T/F: Light malt backbone with a crazy tropical fruit hop profile. Pineapple, mango, guava, and tangerine. Citrus is secondary to the fruit juice. Very modest bitterness. Light in nody. Finish is juicy fruit.
O: A delicious tropical fruit forward DIPA. Quality brew... could have this every day.

I picked up a can of Grand Armory Brewing's Cloudy With A Chance Of Hops for $2.49 at The Lager Mill. I'm in the mood for something hoppy toady and I'm interested to see what they can do with style, so lets see how it goes. 2017 Vintage. Poured from a 12oz can into an IPA glass.
A- The can looks good, the design goes well with the name and it's eye catching. IT poured a hazy darker orange color which took on more of a golden color when held to the light and it had about two fingers worth of creamy white head that died down to a thin ring that stayed till the end and it left some nice sheets of patchy lacing behind. This is a good looking beer, I have no complaints.
S- The aroma starts off with a higher amount of medium sweetness with the hops being the first to show up and they impart some fruity, floral and citrus rind like aromas with a perfumy and floral hop like aromas showing up in the background. Up next comes a little bit of doughy yeast which leads into the malts which impart a pale malt, grainy and sweet malt like aromas. This beer has a nice aroma, but i'm not a big fan of perfume like aroma.
T- The taste seems to be not that similar to the aroma and it starts off with a higher amount of medium sweetness with the hops still being the first to show up and they impart a big juicy and citrus tropical fruit flavors with a little bit of floral and green hops showing up in the background. Up next comes a slight bit of noticeable alcohol that leads into a little bit of doughy yeast that's followed by the malts which are just as light as they were in the aroma and they impart all the same aspects. On the finish there's a lighter amount of medium bitterness with a nice fruity and juicy hops flavors showing up in the aftertaste. This is a good tasting beer, it's got a nice hop profile.
M- Smooth, refreshing, a little crisp, a little creamy, medium bodied with a lighter amount of medium carbonation. The mouthfeel is good and it works well with this beer.
Overall I thought this was a good tasting beer, the hop profile threw me off a little in the aroma, but won me over in the taste and I thought it worked nicely with this beer. This beer had nice drinkability, I think two would be my limit even though the alcohol is pretty well hidden. What I like the most about this beer is the hop profile, it's good and it's the start of the show. What I like the least about this beer is the aroma, I could go without the weird perfume like hops. I would buy this beer again and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a nice DIPA. All in all I was happy with this beer and a little impressed with the taste, especially after the aroma. It's my new favorite beer from this brewery and it's a good example of the style. Good job guys, this is one tasty beer that is smoother than it should be, keep up all the hard work.
