Consumed on draft at the brewery on August 31, 2015.
Beer is a very dark brown with a modest light beige head.
Aroma is (strangely) earthy and (not strangely) light charcoal and coffee.
Flavor is likewise an indistinct blend of dark chocolate, old coffee and ever-so-slight ash. Not especially tasty, sadly.
Mouthfeel is medium-bodied and properly carbonated.
I generally love stouts above almost all else, but this one just didn't do much for me.

On tap at San Fernando Brewing Company in San Fernando, CA.
Pours an opaque black with a foamy dark khaki head that settles to partial film film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of dark roasted malt, cocoa powder, earth, and char aromas. Taste is much the same with cocoa powder, earth, and char flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of roast bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer that is tasty and easy to drink.
Serving type: on tap.
