A nice local place to get my growler filled. Not a lot of atmosphere but good suds. With nice weather, the large garage doors are open for some fresh air. Sometimes they have some good food trucks outside, but not always. For food, just snack items available from the bar. When the food trucks are present, they unfortunately get parked right in front of the garage doors. So you get to look at a food truck. They do allow dogs, so that is my main reason for going. An outing for me and the BZ.

Yard Breather is for real. That beer is on par with the best beer I've had in the greater Charlotte area. Service was amazing. Prices are solid. The atmosphere and everything else was really top notch. But unfortunately, I still think they need to work on their beer recipes and/or production a bit. Granted I only tried three beers, but there was a significant drop off from Yard Breather to the rest. I hate to use this description, but "the rest" tasted like average homebrew. Leads me to believe that they sort of stumbled across Yard Breather by luck at this point until I try something else from them that comes close to that level. I will be back, because every other single thing about this place kicked ass...and at least the fact that they were able to produce a beer like Yard Breather tells me they have potential.

New brewery in Waxhaw. Took over the old firestation. Fixed up with a great open air feel. Really nice. Service was great. Big, long bar, with lots of tables/seating. Garage doors that open up. Really nice looking. Went on opening day. Lots of people there. Bar was full, but also had two stations set up on the street during an arts festival. Could get pours from some coolers. Great service. Four beers...an irish stout, an IPA, an APA and a honey wheat beer. Of the four beers, really only the IPA were decent. The APA was average, the honey wheat was so so and the Irish Stout was horrible (VERY watery).
I know this was opening day. They got the digs right and the service right. Now they need to REALLY work on the beer part.
I'm sure I will be giving it another try in the future, but there is a lot of work to be done.
EDIT: I've been going back weekly for their 'mad brewer Monday' for their one-offs. The quality of the beer has substantially improved. Ever since Tom was hired as the assistant brewer, things have gotten better. He's been brewing Berliners, saisons, etc. Much better
