I thought Rivertown's Death had too much heat, until I tried this one. Had this at Starkbier Fest a few weeks back, hosted by Listermann brewing company. Poured black with a dissipating fizzy head. Smell was ok - bready, chocolate malt, hints of espresso, and black pepper. Typical for a chili beer/American Stout. Taste on the other hand was full-on heat. Now, I've had the pleasure of trying Carolina Reapers before, and a little goes a long way. I think they went a long way and beyond when adding these to this. Nothing enjoyable about the flavor whatsoever. The taste is thin, and definitely not enough body and malt to back up the amount of throat-burning heat that I got in the aftertaste. Glad I just got a sampler.
