From the half liter bottle, it pours a clear light pale yellow color with a nice white head that lasts. Light pilsner scent in the nose - slightly spicy. The taste is also a light, but good, pilsner.

March 2006: 330 ml green bottle, now available in Norway (Vinmonopolet). Crystal clear pale golden colour, large and lasting head, leaves a nice lacing. Aroma has surprisingly much (for a pilsener, that is) malty sweetness, some aromatic hops too. Notes of grass, hay and honey. Flavour has distinct and very good hops, balanced by a mellow maltiness in the background. Bitter aftertaste. A very good pils in my book, as far as pilseners go. The multinational brewers of cheap pale lager swill have something to learn here! Like all beers from Neumarkter Lammsbräu, it is organic.

Appearance: Pours out a faintly hazy, yellow body with a frothed, though short-lived, white head.

Smell: Simple grainy pils malt scent with, well, even with my nose crammed halfway into the glass, I'm getting nothing else. What a jip!

Taste: Grainy tasting blend of pils and pale malts with just a minute amount of sweetness. Hardly any appreciate Noble hop character or bitterness. Splash of spring water. Drying, grainy, fast finish. It's like somebody pressed the "mute" button on this. Yeesh.

Mouthfeel: Light-bodied. Medium carbonation.

Drinkability: Easy drinking, but only because there's essentially nothing there. I hate to say it, but this one leaves you feeling really short-changed on flavor.

Beer bottle (33 cl.), tasted in 2009.

Appearance : pale golden color, with white foamy head (some lacing).
Smell : grain and hoppy aromas.
Taste and mouthfeel : medium sweet, with malty and grassy flavours.
Drinkability : an organic beer in the style German pilsener, but with not much taste.

Neumarkter changes their bottles and this one now comes in a 0.5L brown bottle.

Poured a huge, dense, bright white head that held strong. It left patches of lace as it faded over the course of a few minutes. Barely sweet malt in the nose and that's it... no hops. The mild flavor is dominated my lightly sweet pale malt. There are some floral and grassy hops underneath, but they're no evident. Light and soft mouthfeel. It's a good beer, but a lame Pilsner.

Appearance: sparkling bright with a straw colour. The head is white, moderately low, well formed with poor retention and nice lacing.
Aroma: malt, light hops and some fruit/citrus notes.
Taste: sweet malts, nice hop presence and some spices.
Mouthfeel: smooth, strong carbonation, low alcoholic strength and light to medium body.
Finish: lingering bittersweet aftertaste.

Overall: nothing special about it, but nevertheless a nice and refreshing pilsener.
