Poured from a can into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a nearly black color with a tiny head of tan colored foam. The head fades almost instantly, leaving no lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is huge of a chocolate and caramel smell mixed with tons of vanilla and molasses. At the same time there is a nice coffee and cream smell as well as some lighter notes of dark fruit (cherry, raisin, and prune). Overall, big, sweet, and inviting.
Taste – The taste starts with a very sweet milk chocolate and brown sugar taste mixed with molasses, caramel, and some prune and raisin. The sweetness is accompanied by some roastiness and toast, along with a touch of char. While heavier on the nose, the coffee was actually fairly light on the tongue, adding only a subtle taste to the brew upfront. As the taste advances, the coffee does get a bit stronger, all while the roastiness and char fade some. Al the while the sweet gets even more intense, taking the taste to its end and leaving one with a cloyingly sweet taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body is thick and rather chewy with a lighter carbonation level.
Overall – Way too sweet and unbalanced on my tastebuds. Not one I would ever take on again as it lacks a good balance by the roast and toast to the immensely sweet flavors.

On-tap at Miller's Ale House, Watertown, MA
A: The beer is jet black in color. It poured with a quarter finger high light tan head.
S: Light to moderate aromas of chocolate are present in the nose along with hints of cough syrup.
T: The taste follows the smell and has chocolatey flavors along with hints of cough syrup in the finish.
M: It feels nearly medium-bodied and a little thin on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: The beer starts out OK, but the cough syrupy flavors in the finish are a little off putting.
Serving type: on-tap

A: A deep coffee black with a lovely 1 inch creamy foam head.
S: Wow. A lot of layers here. Dark roast coffee, black chocolate, hint of sweet milk chocolate.
T: The balance of chocolate and coffee is spot on. A touch of sweetness is present and plays very well with the bittering hops. Finishes creamy.
M: Lighter bodied stout. Not too light though. Keeps the beer fluffy and works with the creaminess of this beer.
O: Delicious and well rounded take on a milk stout. a lot less sweet then many other American milk stouts which I enjoy.

From the 12 fl. oz. can with no noticeable date. Sampled on August 18, 2017.
The color of the pour is jet black and opaque. Small head that fades fast.
The aroma brings out a definite mocha or coffee grinds character with a decent roastiness but a low hop profile.
The body is medium but there is some acidity to it.
The taste is both sweet and roasty like a cup of black coffee. There is a feint sweetness there but this is coffee for sure. If you like mocha stouts you should be satisfied.
